Positivity

The thirteen new songs will be with Dave Bascombe (master mixer of The Sweetest Illusion, Depeche Mode, and maaaany others) this November for final mixing. While things can and do change, for now a spring 2008 release and a tour over summer and fall look more likely than ever. There's some strong contenders on the label front; keep tuned here toward the end of the year for solid specifics on where and when, but wheels are definitely in motion.

This is all good news and brings us ever closer to that elusive new work!

  1. That is great news. The Matt Bianco tour was rather limited sadly. My guess is that they will play the outdoor, smaller amphitheaters which is fine by me. Looking forward to more news.

  2. It's definitely going to be interesting as to where the tour will go. So much has changed even the past couple of years, never mind since their last tour. There are venues they played last time that don't exist anymore.

I'd love to see a mix of small theatre/clubs in with the small amphitheaters, myself!

Last time Basia played the UK in 1994, we had London only! any slim chance of venturing a little further north? there are many fans dying to see her..

  7. London, Stockholm or New York - Let me know where they are playing and I'll get there.

As for finding a label, if they can't cut a worldwide deal with an established label they ought to go straight to Steve Jobs and do an iTunes Music store exclusive for the tracks and video.

  8. Dave Bascombe is indded notable. He graced Oleta Adams debut effort, and it is one of the most beautiful albums I've ever heard. I like the work he did on "The Sweetest Illusion" but I'm acually more excited to see what he does now with more experience and a better sense of Basia's identity in place. He has many fans who will follow his name alone, good news for all! I think a deal with Starbuck's/Uni would really be the best for this one.

  9. I'm very much hoping that when the tour is being organized San Francisco will be on the tour itinerary. I've loved her music for so long, and have never gotten a chance to see her perform live.

  11. When is Basia going to take Celine's spot in Vegas? She has a far more interesting voice (better too in my opinion) plus, she's far more attractive. Vegas...Basia. They could build a whole show around her.

  13. I've been a Basia fan since the early 90's. I saw her Sweet Illusions show in New York - and it remains a highlight in my life. She and Danny have made some of the best music ever written &/or performed. I WANT & NEED MORE!
I'll happily send in the cost of 2 tickets right now if she & Danny & her group just return to N.Y. New material would be a bonus, but I'd pay to hear them play just about anything [they'd make nursery rhymes sound fantastic].
I'm delighted to have found this website. Basia, please give us MORE OF YOUR MUSIC!

My son just turned 8 and got his first iPod. The first music he wanted to download was Matt Bianco and Basia. I got to meet her after the show in San Jose and my son wants to meet her so badly. We're excited!!!
